About & Editorial Policy
1. About English News Easy
English News Easy is an educational English learning publication designed for beginner-to-intermediate learners (CEFR A2βB1) who have learned basic conversational phrases but find authentic English broadcasts too fast or complex to follow.
Every day, we publish a concise, one-minute news lesson covering real-world topics across science, health, technology, economy, environment, and global culture. Each lesson is structured as a complete study unit:
- Adapted News Script & Multi-Voice Audio: Clear, natural English sentences paired with sentence-aligned audio from multiple narrators for listening and shadowing practice.
- Key Expression Chunks: Essential idioms, phrasal verbs, and vocabulary highlighted directly alongside each sentence.
- Comprehension Quizzes: Multiple-choice questions with detailed explanations to verify reading and listening comprehension.
- Contextual Dialogue: A natural two-speaker conversation discussing the news topic in everyday spoken English.
- Curated Broadcast Context ("Deeper"): Related video reports from established international broadcasters arranged chronologically so learners can explore the background of each story.
2. Editorial Workflow & Human Review Policy
We prioritize factual accuracy, educational value, and learner readability over volume. Instead of mass-generating unverified pages, we publish one carefully reviewed lesson per day through a four-step editorial workflow:
- Step 1 β Topic Selection & Fact Checking: The editor selects a meaningful current-affairs topic from reputable primary reporting and verifies the underlying facts, dates, and figures.
- Step 2 β CEFR A2βB1 Adaptation & Lesson Design: Complex jargon and overly long clauses are rewritten into accessible English while preserving factual meaning. Key vocabulary chunks, comprehension quizzes, and a follow-up dialogue are crafted around the article.
- Step 3 β Multimedia & Context Curation: Sentence-level audio timings are synchronized, scene illustrations are prepared, and relevant broadcast videos are hand-picked for the "Deeper" section.
- Step 4 β Pre-Publication Human Review: No lesson is published automatically. Before any article goes live, the editor reviews the English script, key expressions, quiz answers, audio synchronization, and translations in our editorial tool to ensure natural phrasing and accuracy.
3. How We Use AI Responsibly
English News Easy uses AI technology as an assistive tool under human editorial supervision, never as an unmonitored content farm:
- Drafting & Translation Assistance: AI assists in simplifying complex sentence structures for A2βB1 learners and generating reference translations and vocabulary notes, all of which are inspected and refined by the editor before publication.
- Speech Synthesis (TTS): High-clarity neural text-to-speech is used to provide consistent, sentence-aligned listening tracks at learner-friendly speeds.
- Interactive Learner Feedback (App): When learners write their own opinions or record spoken English in the app, AI provides personalized grammar corrections and natural phrasing suggestions.
